If you have a youngster at home who’s interested in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics—also known as “STEM”—then they’ll probably be interested in checking out the TFHSST Techstravaganza 2022. The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology hosts the STEM celebration every year as a way to introduce interested folks from around the area to some of the coolest advances in math and the sciences.
Organizations from around the DMV will be on hand to show off their up-and-coming types of technology on Saturday, May 14th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school. Along with hundreds of volunteers from the school, they’ll showcase STEM-centric demos and activities. Learn how a lava lamp works, watch as a scientist breaks down the DNA of a banana, watch student-made robots at work, and see much more! It’s free to attend the event, and registration is encouraged (to allow for a better estimate of the expected attendance) but not required. Parents and children alike are welcome to attend this one-of-a-kind event this month!
